Gold Diggers

Our imprisonment on this deserted shore continues. We spent yesterday looking for food and water. I’m not very good at it. I found some moss but I don’t think it was telling me the truth drifting down a moving street. Thou sixfold initiator compassed about with force and fire Indwelling soul of myself Sunlionserpent overnight overnight overnight understood understood. The larger can be within the smaller: It was a fried egg and it loves me very much. If you don’t see then you can’t be very good.

Sebastian was much better at finding food. Everyone is. If I wasn’t able to conjure useful items I would feel quite useless. Nandore is eyeing my paper, talking about writing a journal. I have to be careful of him.

Last night we saw boats on the water. We tried to attract their attention, but they ignored us. We have got to get off this island.

Nandore's Shipwreck Journal - Day 2

So much for writing a fascinating series of interviews with fearsome criminals. Instead we’re stuck on a deserted isle waiting for rescue. Hmmph!

My job seems to be collecting wood. I’m the only one with decent survival skills and what do I get to do?

So, I gathered enough wood for several days and decided to build a lean-to shelter with it. Now we won’t freeze in the wind that comes in every night.

Kobayashi seems to have decided that glow moss is good eating. Sebastion (the prisoner) who we’ve managed to somewhat free of his chains, has proven quite adept at finding food and tonight we feasted on coonies. Bell brought us back some flour from a barrel she found in another cove – so we have pancakes as well. After a fashion. We cook them on pink frying pan that Kobayashi can summon. We now also have a barrel which we can refill from the small stream that pours into the top of the cove, just by the cave.

Perhaps this journal will get published some day and I’ll be famous. Have to get stuck here for a while to qualify and I won’t be at all put out if that’s one fate we can avoid.

The moons were high tonight. We had a good view of the bay in the night. When Bell woke us up to look at a bunch of sails, we had little difficulty making them out. Some kind of small craft. Perhaps catamarans. Kobayashi shone her medallion for a span of time, making it like day. But they ignored us. :( Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Are they some kind of natives to this region? Uncivilized, perhaps? Or just the local fishing fleet?

Tomorrow we’ll explore further afield. As a team, I hope. I don’t want to go up on that rise alone with that leopard hanging about. Perhaps we’ll find a boat pulled up in another cove?

I have to write carefully, there are paper thieves about.

So there was this storm, before. Storms and sea voyages do not mix well.

The storm itself wasn’t too bad. Well it was pretty bad. Worse than being in the jungle I guess. But being attacked by fish people was worse still. I used up all my spells on the leader, but he just kept coming! And Belle used her spells (I guess she is a cleric) to heal everyone and attacked him as well, but he got away. At least that meant that the rest of them ran too.

That was in the middle of the storm, apparently the big storms have an intermission in the middle, just like plays. The second half was worse, because all the crew were injured and we had holes in the boat. And there was some weird stuff going on as well with a bug I may have accidentally summoned. Oops.

Sometime after that we must have crashed into some rocks, because the next thing I remember is being washed up on a beach. A lot of people are dead, but not everyone. Belle isn’t dead, and neither are the journalist or the prisoner. They’re all people that I’ve mentioned in my journal… but thats probably just a coincidence.

So we’re stuck on this deserted coast, and I’ve been surviving off cantrips and basic conjurations. It was just me and Nandore for a while, but we lit a fire to attack rescuers and find off wildlife (there was a really big cat!) and that helped Belle find us, along with Sebastion, the prisoner.

In the storm

I take back what I said about jungle travel, it has its good points.

A new job

So we got a new job, which is good, but it seems kinda dangerous. We have to sail half way around the continent, to a place called the Dreadhold. Its a prison, but not just any prison. Its for prisoners so dangerous that its worth carting them a thousand miles just make sure they’re secure. I don’t like prisons.

Once we get there, we have a package for some High Marshal called Voltaire.I don’t know how Anaguissa knows he’s going to be there. I wish I knew what’s in the package. I hope its not dangerous.

Anaguissa paid for the ship there, and we are supposed to be coming back with the High Marshal. Who knows how that will work out. At least ship travel is better than walking through the jungle.

And we have some fellow travellers. A prisoner being sent to the Dreadhold (so thats great) and a journalist. He talks a lot, but he seems harmless enough.

I learned the Invisibility spell. That would have come in handy back in Cyre. Belle didn’t learn any spells, I’m still not sure if she’s a cleric. I haven’t yet seen her with a book.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
